Generative Artificial Intelligence. :(
Hollow studios does not tolerate the use of generative AI for commercial use. We will not make efforts to collaborate with active users of, or people who profit from generative AI. We do not consent for any of our artwork or any of our team member's content to be used for the purposes of training any AI models. If any of our image, video, text, or audio content or our likenesses are used in AI training, it will be regarded as theft. As the rightful copyright holders of our original content, we have the lawful rights to take legal action against the stealing, copying, redistribution or misuse of our intellectual properties under the Intellectual property act 2014 and the copyright, designs and patents act 1988. We will not use any form of generative AI in our content, as the survival of human creativity in the media industry is one of our highest priorities.
What is generative AI?
Generative AI is computer generated content created by an Artificial Intelligence model, usually told what to do by a text prompt. It works by an AI model being fed pre-existing data such as images or videos, and then recycling that data like some sort of Frankenstein to create a new piece of content. A large majority of the time, AI models are trained on artworks made by unconsenting and oblivious copyright holders, meaning the trainer of the AI is committing theft and copyright infringement with little to no punishment. It is a complete and utter misuse of AI in modern society. Rather than focusing AI on things that would benefit humanity, like automating dangerous labour or curing disease, it is being abused by media companies, large corporations and content farms in order to get the highest profit margin they possibly can by using generative AI to make the media for them rather than paying humans to create the content. This in turn creates an impossible work climate for small or emerging human creatives, who are being laid off from their dream jobs due to being replaced with the cheaper and "more profitable" option. In the long term this will lead to the media industry being replaced with AI, companies only hiring minimum wage prompt writers who will also eventually be replaced by AI, and the creative industry being fully ran by monopolies with only a few billionares hoarding the profits. So yeah... We're pretty upset about it.
If you want to fight against the commercial use of generative artificial intelligence then please sign petitions, contact your local government, and spread the word. AI might make content faster, it might even make it better. But nothing, NOTHING, will take away the beauty of real human made art.
That's obviously not real AI art, I wouldn't stoop low enough to use it as an example here
