Rejects is a concept that small Hollow started writing on the 19th of February 2021, where it was going to be a rubber-hose style webcomic following an orphan boy named Pupilli discovering the afterlife. In the last 4 years it has been rewritten time and time again, becoming 'Tales out of taghairm' and many names along those lines, becoming a manga, an anime, a visual novel, until eventually becoming Rejects. A whole universe of characters and concepts that could work in any media form. Pupilli became Edward, Matrina became Shee, and we haven't stopped. We've done so much worldbuilding we can't even fit it in just the show, but we're gonna do the show anyway.

What's the main concept behind Rejects?

In a universe shaped by naïve gods, whose thoughtless blunders curse the land, a boy ends up in the afterlife without ever actually dying and has to grow up among rejects and demons.

What is a Reject?

These gods are experimental creatures. When they first invented life during the Earth's genesis they made heaps and heaps of intelligent life forms trying to find the perfect hosts to populate their planet. Any creature they deemed unfit to dwell on earth was a reject, abandoned on a lump of dirt at the other side of the sun. The planet Iftír, but at the time it was known as purgatory.

Aw ain't it just the cutest? Such low quality visuals are so sad to see... But at the end of the day it was just a quick thing to do as practice for what was to come. Animatic 2 is where it gets interesting.

Okay, okay. It's still visually disappointing but look! It's longer, has more actors, actually has something that... resembles... a story, and has way more camera angles and cartoony aspects! Animatic 3 is where it really steps up.

We wrote it, we cast it, we started animating it, but we accidentally made so much progress while doing all that that all the progress we made on it was outdated, so we had to scrap it. We'll dub what we already animated and move on to making an actual fully animated short film.
